Overview
We offer language choices for learners at all levels of language study. Our study levels are:
- Beginners: Students starting their study of a language
- Continuers: Students who will have studied 400 to 500 hours by the time they complete Stage 2.
- Background Speakers: Students with a background in a language, including at least one year’s education in a country where it is spoken.
Pathways from language studies can include further studies and careers in interpreting and translation.

This subject enables students to study a language that is not currently available on the national list of languages. Students develop cultural knowledge and skills to communicate effectively in their chosen language
Students should have some background and prior knowledge of their chosen language.
