Responsibilities

In the SACE program, teachers play a pivotal role in facilitating student learning, growth and success. Their responsibilities include:

  1. Curriculum Delivery: Delivering engaging and effective lessons aligned with the SACE curriculum objectives, ensuring that students have the opportunity to achieve the required learning outcomes.
  2. Assessment: Designing, administering and grading assessments to accurately evaluate students' progress and attainment of SACE requirements. This includes providing constructive feedback to students to support their learning journey.
  3. Differentiation: Tailoring instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students, providing additional support or enrichment opportunities as necessary to ensure equitable access to learning.
  4. Student Support: Providing guidance, mentorship and academic support to students to help them navigate their SACE journey successfully. This may involve assisting with subject selection, study skills development, and goal setting.
  5. Professional Development: Engaging in ongoing professional learning and development to stay abreast of best practices, educational trends, and SACE curriculum updates. This includes participating in training workshops, conferences, and collaborative learning communities.
  6. Data Analysis: Analysing student performance data to identify areas for improvement and inform instructional decision-making. This may involve tracking individual student progress, identifying trends across classes, and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly.
  7. Collaboration: Collaborating with colleagues, SACE coordinators and school leaders to ensure consistency in curriculum delivery, assessment practices and student support services. This collaborative approach fosters a cohesive and supportive learning environment for students.
  8. Parent and Community Engagement: Communicating regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on students' progress, discuss academic goals and address any concerns. Teachers also engage with the wider community to promote the value of SACE education and foster positive partnerships.
  9. Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Ensuring compliance with SACE policies, guidelines and assessment protocols, including maintaining the integrity of assessments and upholding academic honesty standards.
  10. Personal and Professional Conduct: Demonstrating professionalism, integrity and ethical conduct in all interactions with students, colleagues, and stakeholders. Teachers serve as role models for students and uphold the values of the teaching profession.

By fulfilling these responsibilities effectively, teachers contribute to the overall success of the SACE program and support students in achieving their academic and personal goals.
