SACE Board

SACE Board

The SACE Board of South Australia is a statutory authority of the South Australian Government responsible for providing the SACE. Senior-secondary examinations have been available to South Australian students since the first class of 10 boys sat the 'Matriculation' examinations at the University of Adelaide in 1874. Since then, South Australia has delivered senior-secondary assessments and qualifications not only locally but also to students in other Australian states and territories, as well as selected countries outside Australia.

SACE Board Strategic Plan

Passport to Thrive
A qualification for a changing world

Over the past three years, working together with schools, the SACE Board has been testing different approaches to teaching, learning and assessment, and discovered the most impactful strategies from their experience on the ground.
What emerged was the value of capabilities, students’ active role in their own learning, and how they showcase what they know and can do.
These strategies enable us to get to the heart of what we are collectively trying to achieve for every student.
