Responsibilities

Each school is responsible for appointing a SACE Coordinator.  Coordinators a vital role in the administration and delivery of the SACE program within a school. Their responsibilities encompass various operational and educational tasks, ensuring the smooth functioning of the SACE framework.  

Here is a breakdown of their key duties: 

1. Oversight of the Assessment Calendar: 

  • Ensure that the assessment schedule is well-organised and adhered to by both teachers and students. 
  • Coordinate with teachers to manage assessment deadlines and submission dates. 
  • Address any conflicts or issues that arise related to the assessment calendar. 

2. Overseeing Student Enrolments (Schools Online): 

  • Manage the enrolment process for students in SACE subjects using the Schools Online platform. 
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of student data and subject choices. 
  • Update and maintain student records throughout the academic year. 

3. Supporting Teachers in the Delivery of SACE: 

  • Assist teachers in understanding and fulfilling their assessment responsibilities. 
  • Provide guidance on SACE policies, procedures and best practices. 
  • Offer support and resources to help teachers deliver the SACE curriculum effectively. 

4. Distributing Communications: 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for SACE-related communications within the school. 
  • Ensure that relevant information from the SACE Board is promptly disseminated to teachers, students and parents. 
  • Keep the school community informed about important dates, changes, and updates related to SACE. 

5. Submitting Students' Work for Moderation: 

  • Organise and manage the submission of student work for external moderation. 
  • Ensure that all required documentation and materials are prepared and submitted accurately. 
  • Liaise with teachers to gather and verify student work before submission. 

6. Managing Examinations: 

  • Oversee the administration of SACE examinations within the school. 
  • Ensure that examination protocols and procedures are followed. 
  • Coordinate with invigilators, teachers and students to facilitate a smooth examination process. 

7. Main Liaison with the SACE Board for Operational and Educational Matters: 

  • Serve as the main point of contact between the school and the SACE Board. 
  • Address any operational issues or queries related to the delivery of the SACE. 
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions provided by the SACE Board to stay updated on policies and requirements. 

By fulfilling these responsibilities, the SACE Coordinator ensures that the school meets the standards and requirements of the SACE Board, supports teachers in their instructional roles, and helps students successfully navigate their SACE journey.
