The Design, Technology and Engineering specialised skills task is assessed by the school and moderated at Stage 2. Teachers select moderation samples and submit materials online by late November (Round B).

Students complete two specialised skills tasks. They demonstrate skills and knowledge that will be required for the realisation of their solution. They apply the skills, processes and techniques in the chosen context. This informs the design development for a solution in Assessment Type 2. Students evaluate and assess the development of their own skills and review how processes and techniques may influence their solution.

Evidence should be provided in multimodal form to a maximum of 6 minutes if oral, 1000 words in written form, or a combination of these.
