Minimum technical requirements and supported specifications
We have minimum technical requirements and supported specifications for all equipment to be used for e-exams.
In 2026, student devices are expected to meet the following minimum technical requirements to use our e-exam system.

Prohibited items:
- Tablets are not supported
- VPN - Virtual Private Network connection
- Virtual Machines
- Use of AI tools or applications that may provide assistance or interfere with the exam - TBC
- Remote access software
Recommendations:
- Age of student devices should be no older than 4 years
- Disable anti-virus scan during the exam session
- Disable OS updates during exam sessions
- Devices should have notifications disabled where possible to minimise interruptions during the exam session.
- Background applications (specifically Ai applications) should be closed prior to launching SEB to ensure optimal performance and stability.
