E-exams

Minimum technical requirements and supported specifications

We have minimum technical requirements and supported specifications for all equipment to be used for e-exams. 

In 2026, student devices are expected to meet the following minimum technical requirements to use our e-exam system.

Prohibited items:

  1. Tablets are not supported
  2. VPN - Virtual Private Network connection
  3. Virtual Machines
  4. Use of AI tools or applications that may provide assistance or interfere with the exam - TBC 
  5. Remote access software

Recommendations:

  1. Age of student devices should be no older than 4 years
  2. Disable anti-virus scan during the exam session
  3. Disable OS updates during exam sessions
  4. Devices should have notifications disabled where possible to minimise interruptions during the exam session. 
  5. Background applications (specifically Ai applications) should be closed prior to launching SEB to ensure optimal performance and stability.
