Australian Education System 

  • Language: English is the official language of instruction. 
  • Curriculum: Developed by the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA), it aims to create successful learners, confident individuals and informed citizens. 
  • Qualifications Framework: The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) covers all education and training qualifications, ensuring smooth transitions between different education levels. 

School Education Structure 

  • Primary School: 7-8 years, starting from Kindergarten/Preparatory to Year 6 or 7. 
  • Secondary School: 3-4 years, from Years 7 to 10 or 8 to 10. 
  • Senior Secondary School: 2 years, Years 11 and 12, where students complete their SSCE.
